Premiere of the docufilm “𝑵𝒖𝒔𝒆”, directed by 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮, exploring the singing of the women of Zadrima. The original music was composed by the author himself through electroacoustic compositional processes.
After the screening, the author performs on stage with the women of Zadrima, Voices and loom, electronics.
The docufilm, with a primarily ethnomusicological connotation, artisanal but also political and historical, evokes the memory of the transition. It seeks to act as a form of denunciation against the dictatorships of dispossession and identity that persist to this day, articulating a critique of systems that appropriate and silence cultural memory.
On screen “Nuse”, does not portray any specific ritual event, but rather reflects the archetype of every ritual, essentially translated into the songs of the bride.
The women’s voices and their articulations, rich in their monodic simplicity, the retelling of lived historical events and the often mystical poetics of the texts, shaped through the rhythmic richness of the Gheg language, melismas and the songs’ structural minimalism, allow Nuse to gently permeate the narrative.
We look forward to seeing you!
