Takim nga Qendra e Studimit të Arteve te Akademia e Shkenca, Tiranë
The Centre for Art Studies (CAS) is pleased to announce that next Wednesday, 30 April 2025, starting at 11:00 am, Ilirida Musaraj will be speaking to Dr. Jonida Gashi about her work as project coordinator of the Archive of Albanian Migration in Greece, at the “Aleks Buda” Hall in the Academy of Sciences of Albania. The Archive of Albanian Migration in Greece is a pilot project undertaken by the Contemporary Social History Archives (ASKI), with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative (SNFPHI) at Columbia University. Its goal is to map existing resources on Albanian migration to Greece, to create new ones, and to amplify the voices and lived experiences of Albanian migrants, while also highlighting a significant yet often overlooked chapter in contemporary Greek history. The project has served as an experiment in building contemporary migration archives in Greece, raising critical questions: What does a migration archive in the making look like? What materials, themes, and stories should it include? What dilemmas emerge along the way? And how might such an archive interconnect the past, the present, and the future?
