OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS – „Antifascism: Now”

Lothringer 13 Halle, in cooperation with Goethe-Institut, is planning the interdisciplinary regional project ‘Antifascist Cultures of the Present,’ starting in 2026.
The project will focus on (South) Eastern Europe and deals with the topic of antifascism and its artistic manifestations. It aims to highlight antifascism as a central task of cultural practices in democratic societies.
Together with the residency programme of the City of Munich, Artist in Residence Munich @artistinresidencemunich Lothringer 13 Halle is planning an international artist residency jointly with Goethe-Institut.
Three working residencies will be awarded to professional artists from various artistic disciplines (visual arts, music, literature, film, dance/performance) with primary residence in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Turkey or Ukraine.
During the residency (8 January–26 March 2026), the artists will live at the Ebenböckhaus in Munich and develop a project of their own choosing, the content of which should relate to the call for applications on the theme of ‘Antifascist Cultures of the Present’.
