Durrës Biennale

@durres_biennale shpall temën zyrtare të kuratorit @massimo.scaringella për Edicionin e Dytë të Bienales Ndërkombëtare të Artit Bashkëkohor të Durrësit: “Periferia: Tranzicione Pamore”.

Kjo temë do të sjellë në Durrës, nga 1 deri më 31 tetor 2026, artistë bashkëkohorë nga vende të ndryshme, të cilët, përmes interpretimit të saj, do të paraqesin realitetet e tyre periferike dhe antropologjike në hapësirat ekspozuese të pavijoneve kombëtare përkatëse.

Periferia përfaqëson një laborator të vërtetë për artistin krijues bashkëkohor. Në këtë këndvështrim, ajo shfaqet si burim i një sërë fenomenesh shoqërore që, si pjesë e një organizmi të gjallë antropologjik, transformohen në një lloj “vrime të zezë”, ku zakonet, traditat dhe praktikat e prapambetura gjejnë terrenin e tyre më të përshtatshëm për t’u ruajtur dhe riprodhuar.

@durres_biennale announces the official theme of curator @massimo.scaringella for the Second Edition of the International Biennale of Contemporary Art of Durrës: “Periphery: Visual Transitions”.

This theme will bring to Durrës, from 1 to 31 October 2026, contemporary artists from different countries, who, through its interpretation, will present their peripheral and anthropological realities in the exhibition spaces of the respective national pavilions.

The periphery represents a true laboratory for the contemporary creative artist. From this perspective, it appears as the source of a series of social phenomena that, as part of a living anthropological organism, are transformed into a kind of “black hole”, where backward customs, traditions and practices find their most suitable terrain to be preserved and reproduced.
